Referee Availability Survey

Please fill in the survey to note your availability to referee this year,

https://www.boccia.com.au/surveys/9752

Why?

Boccia Australia has made the decision that BA accredited referees will be able to attend BA-sanctioned competitions cost-neutral. This means BA will cover reasonable costs for travel and accommodation for referees. BA will also provide you with clothing (2 tee-shirts and one jacket), a name badge, and logbook sheets for your Maintenance of Status. BA will also provide referee equipment to use during the competition (although you may use your own equipment after it has been verified by the Head Referee).

All referee selection for BA-sanctioned events must from now on go through the Australian Head Referee, Lisa Hanssens.

Regular surveys will be sent out to all referees as part of an expression of interest. You can nominate which competitions you are able and willing to attend. The BA Head Referee will then compile the list of referees that will be invited to referee at each competition. After she has notified you of your selection, you can then register for the competition and your reasonable travel and accommodation costs will then be paid (if you want something different, you can discuss your financial contribution with the Head Referee).

The Head Referee will make sure competitions have the right number of referees and ensure give everyone has a chance to referee in order to keep up their maintenance of status. This may mean you may not necessarily be selected for every competition you put your hand up – this is no judgment on your skills, just giving others have the same opportunity to keep up their refereeing skills.

This means:

Referees:

-              Please fill in the survey to let Lisa know your availability: SURVEY LINK

-              This survey remains open all year and you can re-do the survey if your availability changes

-              There is no need to email – when you complete the survey it will automatically notify Lisa

-              Do not register as a referee for a competition until you have been approved by Lisa

-              Once approved by Lisa, you can then go ahead and register with the competition organisers

-              Keep receipts of your travel/accommodation cost. You will receive an expenses form during the competition. You send the form and receipts to Lisa in order to be approved for reimbursement.

-              You need to keep up your Maintenance of Status requirements (to remind you, they are ATTACHED). This includes adding your Working with Children details to your membership details on RevolutioniseSPORT or emailing them to RefereeAdmin@boccia.com.au

State Head Referees and competition organisers: Communicate with Lisa – she coordinates your referee selection in consultation with you. Do not accept referee registrations unless they have been approved by Lisa.
