Constitution

Boccia Australia’s Constitution outlines our objects, powers, members, board structure, meeting procedure and broad objectives in service to the boccia community in Australia.

Board

We are governed by the Boccia Australia Limited Board, which is comprised of the following board members:

Directors are elected or appointed in accordance with the Boccia Australia Constitution. Generally, Directors hold office for a term of three years. The Chair is elected by the Directors by majority vote. All Directors commit to the Directors Code of Conduct. 

Strategy

Our vision is that Boccia is nationally recognised as the most inclusive and accessible sport through its delivery of programs to people of all abilities and through our achievements here and globally.

Our current strategy is centred around four pillars:

  • Grow our Boccia community;
  • Connect our Boccia community;
  • Excel Boccia to Play Well & Win Well; and
  • Build a sustainable model for Boccia.

Board Committees

Boccia Australia's Board uses the following Board Committees to govern the organisation:

  • Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee – Oversees financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting, and supports the Board’s oversight of audit and risk matters, including consideration of urgent escalations and monitoring expenditure against budget.

    Ethics and Integrity Committee – Provides oversight of ethics and integrity matters for the organisation, supporting a safe, fair and accountable boccia environment and recommending integrity-related actions and settings to the Board. 

    Competitions Committee – Provides oversight of competition-related matters, including sanctioning competitions and ensuring Host Organising Committees for sanctioned competitions fulfill Boccia Australia's requirements.

    Governance Committee – Supports the Board in maintaining strong governance, including reviewing and recommending changes and to governance policies and processes. 

    Nominations Committee – Leads Board nominations and appointment processes and is chaired by a person independent of the Board and Boccia Australia.

    Fundraising Committee – Supports the Board and management to develop and oversee fundraising initiatives and opportunities that strengthen Boccia Australia’s sustainability and growth.
