OUR COACH LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MODULES ARE BEING UPDATED

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE MODULES FOR EACH LEVEL THROUGH THE LINKS BELOW AS THEY ARE FINALISED.    

We are aiming for an athlete driven, coach supported philosophy, so we need to change the way we deliver coaching and support our coaches.  This means providing a continuous learning environment that ensures that we have coaches in our pathway with a learning mindset.

BOCCIA AUSTRALIA - COACH LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT 

LEVEL 1: Module 1:Community Coaching Essential Skills

The module to be completed through the Australian Sports learning online portal, contains eight parts, covering a range of general coaching topics and has been designed so coaches can learn at their own pace and complete modules anytime, anywhere, on any device. This course has replaced the General Principles Course and takes approximately three hours to complete.  Click on this LINK to register and start your coaching journey.

LEVEL 1: Module 2: Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction

The Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction course is for any person and any organisation who is bound by the Child Safeguarding policy. The course provides the foundation knowledge and education required to understand and implement the Child Safeguarding Policy. Click on this LINK to register for this important part of becoming a coach and coaching the participants in your sport.

LEVEL 1: Module 3: Inclusive Coaching 

The PBTR (Play by the Rules)Inclusive Coaching course provides an opportunity for community coaches to develop their own approach and strategies for inclusion. It includes practical case studies and examples of what it means to be inclusive of all people, what inclusion and diversity means for your sport, and what discrimination means under the law.  This is the LINK  to register for the Inclusive coaching module.

LEVEL 1: Module 4: Classification Fundamentals

An important part of para-sport is classification.  The fundamentals course will give you an introduction to classification and how to manage it as a coach.  This comprehensive education about classification in Para-sport is designed for all athletes and support personnel participating in competitive sport.  Register via this LINK to head to the Sport Integrity Australia website to complete the course.

LEVEL 1: Module 5 - Learning about Boccia. This module is composed of 10 videos so you can listen to tips, receive advice and general information about Boccia from some of our experienced coaches.

It is recommended during this module that you take notes from each of the key points as advsied by Ken and Peter and the presentations from BISFed (World Boccia) for reference and pause for a break when necessary. These videos and the modules that you have completed through the Sport Learning and Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) will support you to start your Boccia coaching journey.  Click on the LINK to access the videos.

LEVEL 1:  ASSESSMENT Don't forget to provide your completed certificates or upload to your profile.

NEXT STEPS:

  • You will need to complete all the modules and assesment from Level 1 to start the Level 2 and continue your coach learning.  
  • Provide a current Working with Childrens Check 
  • and if you are currently coaching, obtain a National Police Check, and then
  • upload both these documents to your BA membership profile.

 

LEVEL 2: Coach Learning & Development - What's Next?

As you start the next part of your coaching journey you should understand the Boccia Australia Performance Pathway. The guiding principals that for the development of our Boccia Athletes. Where you fit within the pathway and where you want to take your Boccia Coaching journey. 

In level 2 we will start to broaden the coach learning and development and provide a varitey of learning options and opporutnities that we hope will support you.  Click on this LINK to access the documents in the Introduction before you start the next modules.

LEVEL 2: Module 1: Community Coaching - Masterclass

Each Masterclass extends upon topics covered in the Community Coaching Essential Skills course and guides coaches on how to apply this knowledge in their own environment by following the ASC’s Coach Development Model. Click on the LINK to access module and register for the Masterclass through the AIS coach learning portal.

LEVEL 2: Module 2: Anti Doping Fundamentals 

To get you started in the next level of your coaching journey it's important to understand the requirements and responsibilities as a coach and the role you will play in your athletes' lives and the role that you play in their sporting journey.  A comprehensive anti-doping education designed for all athletes and support personnel participating in competitive sport.  You can click on this LINK to register for this module.

LEVEL 2: Module 3: Coaches Course - Anti Doping 

This is the next level of requirements for Anti-doping. The role that you have in your athletes' lives as they progress in to the next level of participation, and competition also means keeping up to date on the responsbilities that you both have to understanding the requirements for Anti-doping.  To enrol in this course, you must first complete Anti-Doping Fundamentals.  Continue your learning by clicking on this LINK for the next course.

LEVEL 2: Module 4: Competition Manipulation and Sports Beting 

While we all love the competitive nature of sport there are rules and regulations about how we can offer information about your athletes' and any competition that they are competing in.  This e-learning program is designed to help you understand what Comptition Manipulation and Sports Betting is, its consequences, how to regognise it and report it.  This LINK will take you to the module to register.
