__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Boccia Australia (BA) is recognised by World Boccia as the organisation responsible for Boccia in Australia. BA selects athletes to compete internationally at all World Boccia sanctioned events.

Nominations are called for from interested persons for appointment to the BA Selection Panel. From these nominations, the Board of BA will review, assess and appoint successful candidates.

BA is seeking people with a range of experience and knowledge for these roles. This may include one or more of the following:

  • Considerable understanding of and experience in high performance sport, especially Paralympic sport, Boccia or other sports with similar performance characteristics
  • Experience as an international competitor in Boccia, or as an international coach, official or other relevant team member role. Please note that persons currently active at the international level, or intending to become active at the international level within the next four years are not eligible for appointment
  • Experience as a selector for another sport
  • Relevant legal experience as it relates to sport and selection related matters

Applications to be sent to Kathryn Periac via kathryn.periac@boccia.com.au for receipt by midnight 21 March 2022. Please provide a brief resume and/or statement of related experience (maximum 1 page), and a short-written statement (maximum 1 page) describing why you would like to undertake this role.

Please note persons with close connections to athletes which may be in contention for selection such as a family member, partner, coach or carer etc, should declare this as a potential conflict of interest, and note that the Board may, in their discretion, rule an applicant as ineligible for appointment based on the potential conflict of interest.
