Try Para Sports

BOCCIA AUSTRALIA is pleased to share an opportunity to explore Para sport through the Bupa Try Para Sports series.

Delivered by Disability Sports Australia in partnership with Paralympics Australia and presented by Bupa Australia, these free events will take place across Australia from late March.

Bupa Try Para Sports events are designed for people with disability who may be interested in participating in Para sport and want to learn more about the opportunities available.

At each event you can:

• Try a range of Para sports

• Learn about local participation opportunities

• Meet Paralympians and members of the Para sport community

• Understand classification and eligibility pathways

• Connect with clubs and organisations involved in Para sport

These events are open to people aged 10 years and over with disability who are interested in exploring sport and getting involved in their community.

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), in partnership with state and territory institutes and academies, national sporting organisations and Paralympics Australia, is inviting Australians aged 13+ to put their sporting potential to the test through Future Green + Gold. Future Green + Gold is a nationwide talent search designed to discover Australia’s next generation of Paralympic athletes.

No previous sporting experience is required. The program is designed to help identify your strengths and guide you towards sports where you may have the greatest potential. The opportunity is also open to current athletes who may be considering transitioning into a different sport. In some states and territories, existing talent identification programs may also be supported through this campaign.

The process is simple:

  1. Visit ais.gov.au/talent
  2. Complete the online registration form
  3. If eligible, you may be invited to attend a testing session in your state or territory Discover where sport could take you.
  4. Find out more or register your interest at ais.gov.au/talent.
